Superman Accepts the Impossible

Henry Cavill, star of Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman, has agreed to join the cast of the sixth film in the Mission Impossible franchise. What is so intriguing about the news is that he did not audition for the role, but instead he was simply recruited by director Christopher McQuarrie on Instagram.

McQuarrie posted an image on the social media site last night, with the caption, “Say, @henrycavill. Had a thought. Curious if you’re interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure.”

What was even more unexpected was that Cavill replied immediately. After comments back and forth, Cavill eventually agreed to McQuarrie’s offer, to which McQuarrie replied, “Outstanding, welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds.”

This means Cavill will be joining the star studded cast of Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, and Simon Pegg for the next Mission Impossible. The film is slated for a Summer 2018 release.

I can’t wait to see where this great series takes us next, what do you guys think about the newest recruit to the MI team? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter @TheNerdChambers, and don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram!
