After a weekend of binge watching Iron Fist it is finally time to break down the show… Iron Fist has had a very hard time when it came to the critics. The show was bashed pretty hard about being boring, the lead being uninteresting, and the lack of action sequences. I will be tackling my thoughts without giving any spoilers, but I will be giving a full spoiler review later next week.
As I mentioned in my first half review, the show had a fairly slow start compared to the other Netflix Marvel shows. Daredevil and Luke Cage. both had a very action filled series from start to finish. Wether the action came from the lead characters or if the action came from the criminals in the shows. Iron Fist on the other hand had a very low amount of action. The show was more based around Danny (Iron Fist) finding out what happened to his family and company.
If you’re going to watch Iron fist… You need to go into this show to learn more about Iron Fist/Danny as a character. Do not go into the series looking for crazy action sequences. I’m sure that will come later on in later seasons, but for now it’s to purely learn why Danny is the Iron Fist. I still am surprised on the very low rating that season 1 received being 18%. The show has a good way to make you feel for the characters, and you really do understand their relationships with one another. Overall I did enjoy the show. I would give it a 6/10. Good enough to watch if you’re interested in the marvel universe. Unlike Daredevil and Luke Cage… I probably wouldn’t rewatch the show, like I have already for Daredevil, but it was a good watch!
I will be giving a spoiler review coming up next week. I will cover everything possible about the show. Hopefully the non Spoiler review will help you decide wether or not to view the first season of Iron Fist! If you have seen the show let us know what you thought @TheNerdChambers on Twitter!
