Summer Games Fest Kickoff Recap

The second Summer Games Fest held it’s Kickoff Live event earlier today and it was roughly 100 minutes jam packed with game reveals, updates, and trailers. If you didn’t get a chance to check out the live stream we have a rundown of the reveals for you below.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland

The show kicked off with the world premiere trailer for a spin-off game in the Borderlands universe. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a fantasy RPG that is inspired by the popular Borderlands 2 DLC Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. Ashley Burch, the voice of the beloved character Tiny Tina, explained that players will get to customize there characters for the first time and the game will feel familiar to Borderlands fans but also feel like a unique experience.

Metal Slug Tactics

The first game in the Metal Slug franchise in over a decade to come to PC or consoles, Metal Slug Tactics is a new spin on the classic game. It keeps it’s pixel art style and replaces the side-scrolling shooter in favor of a grid based tactical game. Long time fans of the franchise will recognize the cast of characters from the original line of games and will surely get a kick out of jumping back into the classic world.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut

The trailer was then followed up with a conversation with legendary game developer and now found of Kojima Productions Hideo Kojima. He explained that he has a new project in the works and then left us with a trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut. There is expected to be more information as to what will be added and/or changed in the coming weeks.

Lost Ark

Next up we got a trailer for an MMORPG making it’s debut in the West in 2021 Lost Ark. The game, developed by Smilegate, is being published for the west by Amazon Games but has been available in Korea since 2018. Based off the first trailer shown above it looks like the game takes pretty heavy inspiration from games like Diablo, but with an MMO scale.

CoD Black Ops: Cold War Season 4 Trailer

The trailer shown for the new season of Cold War gave us a glimpse at the new maps in standard multiplayer, 2v2 firefight mode, as well as a hint at a potential new zombie map. The new season is just around the corner. Fans of the franchise can look forward to the new maps and content on June 17th.

Among Us Development Road Map

After just recently releasing the 15 player game mode for the social deception game that took over the internet, Inner Sloth released a roadmap full exciting additions. It includes a brief tease of the fifth map, new color addition, new cosmetics, and even new game modes!

Escape from Tarkov – Streets of Tarkov Reveal

The long in development new zone for Escape from Tarkov received a third teaser trailer. The zone figures to be the biggest zone by far in the game and is sure to hold tons of exciting secrets within. The action packed trailer shows off multiple buildings and areas in the town and is sure to bring some excitement to the community of the first person survival shooter.

Back 4 Blood – New Trailer and Release Date

The highly anticipated spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood received a new trailer showing off the characters and some new varieties of infected you will have to take down. They also unveiled that full release is coming on October 12th of this year and if you pre-order, you will get access to the open beta coming August 5th.

Elden Ring

The next game by From Software – the team behind the Dark Souls and Bloodborne games – finally got a gameplay trailer two years after it’s initial announcement. The game seems to have the same combat system as the Dark Souls series but may feature more open world elements to it. The trailer ends giving us a release date of January 21, 2022.
