Ubisoft Forward – E3 2021 Recap

This afternoon we got one of the first major digital conferences for this year’s all-digital E3 with the newest Ubisoft Forward. The digital Ubisoft showcases have always been well produced and structured, focusing on the key games and going in depth while not lingering on smaller things like live service game updates. The Ubisoft Forward for E3 2021 was no different. If you didn’t get a chance to catch the show, we have the recap for you here.

Rainbow Six Extraction

The showcase kicked off with the much anticipated Rainbow Six Extraction (previously Rainbow Six Quarantine). Little was known about the project, with the most details we received being that it is a three player co-op shooter. Not only did we get a beautiful, lengthy cinematic trailer, we got several minutes of gameplay! In the game you will play as one of the many operators of the popular tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege, and go through various types of missions in different quarantine zones to help uncover the secrets behind the alien threat known now as the Archaean. The best part about the presentation was knowing the game will be releasing September 16th of this year.

Rocksmith+

In honor of the game’s 10th anniversary, a massive update and overhaul to the guitar learning software Rocksmith was shown off in full. Not only is the way you learn and progress more in depth, but is now the ability to use Rocksmith+ on your mobile device. What makes this exciting for new or old users is that the app uses your phones microphone to record your playing so there are no cables required. The game has a PC closed beta that started today! You can sign up through Rocksmith’s official website.

Riders Republic

The spiritual successor to Steep, Riders Republic, got a fun five minute trailer showing off all of the different ways to play the upcoming live service action sport game. There are new game modes including a 6v6 competitive mode, and massive races of 64 players. We also received a release date of September 2nd meaning it won’t be long before people can hit the slopes, trails, or skies.

Far Cry 6

Next up we got a peak into the twisted mind of – main antagonist of Far Cry 6 – Anton Castillo. Far Cry is in a class of it’s own when it comes to high quality, almost Joker like, villains. As an homage to the iconic villains of past games they also teased that in the season pass for Far Cry 6, there will be a DLC where you play as past villains Vas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed.

Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope

One of two game reveals during the event, Mario is teaming up with the Rabbids to take on a threat that is on a scale bigger than ever. The game is going to be taking place on multiple planets and Mario and team will use their ship to guide them across the galaxy in hopes of saving everyone. The Switch exclusive has been given a 2022 launch window so it won’t be long before fans of the original can get there hands on more fun.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

The final game of the show, and the second new game reveal was the first spinoff game in the Avatar universe. Not much is known is about the game, although in the reveal trailer, it did seem as though there will be air based combat. One thing we do know is that this game is also slated for a 2022 release.
