The most aniticipated showcase of E3 came and went early this afternoon. Xbox showed off over thirty titles during its roughly hour and a half presentation. Of those titles twenty-seven of them were announced to be on Xbox Gamepass on day one. If you didn’t get a chance to watch the presentation, here are all the games that we got to see:
Starfield
The legend himself Todd Howard was the first to take the stage during the showcase to help show off their new IP Starfield. The game was unveiled back in 2019 and we had yet to get any sort of significant update on the title since then. The short trailer is strictly cinematic but it was exciting to see something. We even received a release date of November 11th, 2022, exactly 11 years after the launch Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Cherynobyl
We then got a meaty trailer and update on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 which showed off an array of interesting weapons and enemies. It also showed us anomalies for the first time and what they do. The trailer ended by giving us an April 28th, 2022 release date for the long awaited game.
Fallout 76 New BoS Update and The Pitt Expedition
You read that right, Fallout 76 will be returning players to one of the most iconic locations in the Fallout Universe, The Pitt. In a new game mode called Expeditions players will be able to go back to post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh, which players first got to visit in a DLC expansion for Fallout 3. If you don’t want to wait until it’s 2022 release to get back into the wasteland, they also showed off a story trailer for the newest campaign expansion Steel Reign which pits two leaders of the Brotherhood of Steel against each other and vying for power. The update is just around the corner slated for a July 7th release.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite showed up once again for Xbox but this time giving us two trailers that gave us a better idea of Master Chief’s mission and a better look at the multiplayer. With a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and game modes, the multiplayer is sure to excite a fan base that has waited a long time to get their hands on the newest installment in the Halo franchise. We did not get an official release date sadly, only a Holiday 2021 release window but we did get confirmation that the multiplayer is free to play for everyone!
The Outer Worlds 2
That’s right, the game of the year contender from just two years ago already has a sequel in the works. The trailer does give a sense the game is still a ways off, but fans of the original are sure to be excited to explore that game world once again.
Forza Horizon 5
The popular MMO racer Forza Horizon is finally back with it’s fifth installment. In the newest game, players are taken to Mexico to explore the desert, forest, and city streets. The gameplay demo shows off new social features, game modes to play with friends, and more. The most exciting part for gamers is that it is going to be coming out this November 9th, so you won’t have to wait long.
Redfall
The show concluded with a surprise announcement of a new game from Arkane (the studio behind Dishonored and Prey). Redfall is a co-op shooter that sees a group of people with super natural abilities take on a vampire threat. The beautiful trailer shows off the abilities of the playable characters as well as some of the enemies that will surely face once the game fully releases some time next year.
