Nintendo has had it’s fair share of the limelight through the first four months of the year with the official reveal of the Nintendo Switch, the launch of the Switch, and the latest installment of The Legend of Zelda being one of the greatest reviewed games of all-time. Nintendo has been enjoying a big year, and they have continued the momentum into E3 this year which is just a few weeks away. At the event, all those Switch owners eager to know what the future holds for their new console will get a chance to see some upcoming games and more during Nintendo’s E3 festivities. Nintendo laid out the major events that they will be holding on their website, which is sure to entice thousands to tune in on June 13th.
To kick off the event, Nintendo will be hosting it’s version of a press conference, Nintendo Spotlight, where they plan to show off more of Super Mario Odyssey as well as games to be announced. Following Nintendo Spotlight is Nintendo Treehouse Live, where viewers of the livestream will get insight from developers on upcoming games for both the Switch and 3DS family of systems, and to tease fans even more Nintendo states on their website they may, “share some surprises.” Two other major events set to take during their three day event is a Splatoon 2 tournament and the first ARMS tournament.

Now that the NES Classic is done being produced, it seems Nintendo has jumped right back on the wagon with their next classic system remake. Sources confirmed to Eurogamer that Nintendo is indeed working on a Super Nintendo Entertainment system similar to that of the NES Classic. Not only is it in production but it is expected to be ready for release this holiday season. I wouldn’t expect the SNES to be around forever though as Nintendo explained when they announced the discontinuation of the NES Classic that the classic system was meant to be a novelty item for the holidays last year. Nonetheless, you should all start getting hyped for the SNES Classic because the game library on the system was superior to that of the NES with games like Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and A Link to the Past.
We will be sure to keep you guys updated when we learn more about the system and a release window. For now, let us know, what SNES games would you want to see on the classic? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @TheNerdChambers.

According to NerdMuch?, after announcing a Minecraft: Education Edition, Microsoft is looking to do some more educating themselves. To go along with their new program which allows anyone to develop games for the Xbox One, Microsoft is going to be holding three 3-hour classes in collaboration with the AIE (Academy of Interactive Entertainment). The classes will be based around game design, programming, and developing, and will be taught by teachers from AIE and will be taught using the Xbox One.
The classes are going to be held at the Microsoft Store in Sydney, Australia from April 10th to the 22nd. What is most exciting about this opportunity for aspiring designers is that the classes are FREE. Now it’s simply a matter of booking a two week trip to Australia. The classes are open to people of all ages, but it is said that they would like to catch interest of the younger generation and get them involved in game design.
What do you guys think of Microsoft’s latest idea? Are they just using stuff like this to get people to make games for them because they are lacking the exclusives of other systems? Or are they actually looking enrich a broader audience into make games? Let us know what you think the comments below or tweet @TheNerdChambers. A nice little reveal trailer dropped yesterday from our friends over at Naughty Dog. Fans would know that the studio has brought us exceptional games such as The Last of Us and The Uncharted series.
Their earliest games, you might remember were the Crash Bandicoot series!
After that those PlayStation 1 classics, they moved on to some of my favorite games of all time; The Jak and Daxter series.
In the reveal trailer that dropped April 3rd, Naughty Dog announced the PlayStation 2 classics are coming to PlayStation 4!
I personally can’t wait to replay Jak and Daxter and go through the whole “chosen one” and “time warp” thing again!
Today on the Australian and New Zealand Blizzard Twitter posted a short video that teases some upcoming Overwatch details! We already got Orisa early this competitive season, so what else could they be bringing to us? The only real information we got from the teaser is April 12 is when we will know what is happening. Are we getting a new map? Why was Kings Row the focal point of the video? Possibly a new event? Are we getting a new character? What do you think is happening April 12th!? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @TheNerdChambers.
Jeff Kaplan recently announced plans to work on a story based on the fallen heroes, Soldier 76 and Reaper. Kaplin stated that although there are comics to explain the backstories of the loved characters in Overwatch, he wants more people to fully understand the complex story and relationship between 76 and Reaper.
I know what you’re thinking, it sounds like this would be a campaign based game.
And you’re right.
“Most of our games we tell the story through lore and dialogue between characters. We feel the dynamic of the two [76 and Reaper] is too strong and we’re not developing the relationship with the current game. There have been talks to add DLC skins but we’ve come to the conclusion that creating a solid game, like a prequel, to fully explain and explore their relationship would help the players understand the tension they have now.”
The future game will be campaign based and you’d be playing as both 76 and Reaper, alternating between missions. There has been no mention if the Prequel would have multiplayer or not.
Are you excited for the Overwatch prequel? Or do you feel like they shouldn’t make the game? Let’s hear your thoughts below!
